Dr. Fu grew up in North Potomac/Gaithersburg of Montgomery County, and graduated from Thomas S. Wootton High School and the University of Maryland, College Park. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010 and has been practicing in the area since then.

Dr. Fu has always loved general practice because she gets to build long-lasting relationships with clients, educate families about preventative care, be the first to get her patients the help they need, and treat pets from the start to the very end of their lives. More recently, she has been excited to continue her own education and expand what she can offer to patients by studying acupuncture and rehabilitation therapy. Her passion is to support families in their goal of maximizing their animals’ quality of life for as long as possible.

Dr. Olcott, a native of upstate NY, obtained his bachelor’s degree in biology from the State University of New York at Geneseo. He then earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University in 1995 and, in 2013, his MBA from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland.

Dr. Olcott was a partner for several years in a multi-doctor small animal practice before leaving to start his own mobile ultrasonography business. More recently, he worked as an Emergency Veterinarian at a local referral hospital, where he was named by his peers as one of the Top Veterinarians in Northern Virginia, and as a relief veterinarian in a small number of high-quality general practices in the Metro DC area.

Tanya Andrews brings both leadership and compassion to her role as Hospital Director at Buckeystown Veterinary Hospital. Growing up in Baltimore, her love for animals began at the age of five when she welcomed her first dog into the family.
Today, Tanya focuses on developing team members, supporting doctors, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care and client service.

What Tanya enjoys most is fostering strong bonds between pets and their families, and being part of a team deeply committed to helping animals thrive. At home, she shares life with her two “foster fail” cats, Gilbert and B, who keep her on her toes. Outside of work, Tanya loves spending time near the water, playing pickleball, and making memories with family and friends. Her approachable spirit and dedication to both people and pets make her an invaluable part of the Buckeystown team.

Maria has been surrounded by animals her whole life and brings over a decade of hands-on experience to her role as Kennel Manager. Before officially entering veterinary medicine in 2023, she spent 10 years working in her family’s dog boarding facility, where her love for animal care truly took root.

Originally from Rockville, MD, she studied Veterinary Assisting at Montgomery College, earning certifications in Dog CPR, Animal Reiki, and Fear Free handling techniques for working with nervous or reactive dogs.

Maria loves coming to work each day to care for animals and support her team. Her calming presence and training help pets feel safe, loved, and comfortable during their stay.

Sarah Mitchell joined Buckeystown Veterinary Hospital in the fall of 2023, focusing on customer service and preventative care. As a mom of three human kids, one spoiled golden retriever, and a tuxedo cat who rules the roost, Sarah understands the special connection between families and their pets.

Catlin Riggs joined Buckeystown Veterinary Hospital in the fall of 2023 as our Technician Supervisor. Growing up in Buckeystown and caring for animals on her family’s farm inspired her passion for veterinary medicine, and today she ensures the highest standards of care while assisting in surgery, training new technicians, and fostering a collaborative, compassionate team environment.

Catlin especially loves earning the trust of pets and being a source of comfort when they need it most.
